BUILD THAT PARK is a campaign to create a truly binational park at the westernmost end of the U.S-Mexico border, accessible to both Mexico and the U.S., and to realize this vision through the engagement, camaraderie, and advocacy of the peoples of both nations. The Design Challenge is a component of BUILD THAT PARK! — a one-year effort to envision the possibilities for an International Friendship Park.

HOW DO YOU ENVISION THE BINATIONAL PARK EXPERIENCE?
While the official Design Challenge is limited to architects, designers, and design students – we are committed to learning more from families, first peoples, stakeholders, theorists, grassroots orgs, and locals who care about this special site. How do you envision experiencing a binational park? We invite you to contribute to the design of International Friendship Park by sharing your insights and vision for this space with us.
In addition to sharing your vision for the site, we encourage you to submit an image of yourself, and/or a video describing how you'd like to experience International Friendship Park. You may also submit drawings or another form of articulating your vision - get creative! We appreciate your inclusion of the BUILT THAT PARK! mantra wherever possible and appropriate. Please note that by submitting, you grant BUILD THAT PARK! the rights to use your content as part of our campaign and promotion.
Informed and fueled by your vision and hopes, the Visionary Plan for International Friendship Park will be made public in August 2021, at a celebration in observance of the 50th Anniversary of Friendship Park.
